no man's sky
the stars are beautiful
i began playing no man's sky in 2021. i had heard the infamously storied past of the game and had, for the most part, stayed away as i understood the game had been mostly broken. in 2021, that was decidedly not the case.
i was immediately blown away by how much fun i was having exploring space, cataloguing flora and fauna, doing space combat with pirates, and avoiding sentinels. i quickly dove into the universe (no pun intended) of the game, even participating in the galactic hub project, the united federation of travelers, and contributing to civilized space.
civilized space
civilized space is somewhat of a roleplay mechanic in no man's sky that is loosely multiplayer. the idea is that players find, name, and catalogue objects in space and colonize them.
the royal collective of systems, or RCS, is the civilization that i'm creating, starting with the joyoshim star system.
the capital planet of the RCS is arubymint, where the royal collective of systems commons is located. there, services exist for travelers, as well as a portal for anyone to use to travel amongst the stars. you can navigate through civilized space using glyphs, the address system in no man's sky.
